CNC Operator

POSITION SUMMARY
Canadian Plains Energy Services is looking for an experienced CNC operator to join our team in Estevan, SK. This is for a Lincoln/Inovatech Steel Pro 900 machine. This is an advanced plasma robot for processing 3D structural steel and 2D plate.
POSITION DETAILS
- This is a full-time position based out of our shop in Estevan, SK
- Candidates must be local to Estevan or be willing to relocate
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Follow direction via cut-lists and supervisor requests
- Conduct minor repairs, as well as daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance
- Cutting structural shapes
- Loading/unloading trucks using telehandler
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
- Use power tools and hand tools
- Understand and participate in the Quality Control Program
- Follow written and oral instructions from the Supervisor or Project Manager
- Communicate with the Supervisor or Project Manager to identify material or equipment deficiencies
- Communicate with other workers to ensure timely job progression
- Organize and keep work area and equipment clean and functional
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Must have at least 5 years of experience operating a similar CNC machine
- CAD/CAM training/background or interest is an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test
- Be able to read a measuring tape (Both Metric and Standard)
- Be willing and able to understand and follow directions
- Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
- Strong math skills
- Good with computers
