Equipment Operator

DESCRIPTION
Under the guidance and direction of the site foreman or direct supervisor, the equipment operator is responsible for operating heaving equipment in an efficient, safe and appropriate manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life while supporting construction activities.
POSITION LOCATION/ DETAILS
- Positions are needed in both Estevan and Carlyle
- Projects are done in South East Saskatchewan or Manitoba
- Local candidates preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in aligning pipes and performing related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction
- Operate heavy equipment such as: dozers, excavators, grader, or side boom in a civil construction environment
- Attends and participates in various meetings such as monthly safety meetings, pre-job and tailgate meetings
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Local candidates to Estevan are preferred
- Ability to operate a track hoe would be considered an asset
- ROW prep and cleanup with dozer and/or grader
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) ticket
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 is considered an asset
- H2S Alive and Standard First Aid
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Previous pipeline equipment operation experience
- Detail oriented with a mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work outside in extreme weather
- Capable of working as part of a team
- Capable of following directions that are spoken or given by hand signals
- Must be able to get to the designated job site
